Many American homes have existing steam heating systems which require the use of a devoted steam boiler. The Burnham Independence steam boiler has the same reputation for long lasting quality and efficiency as our other cast iron gas boilers. When a home’s heating system requires the use of a steam boiler, the efficient, proven, and reliable Independence is the best choice for the job.

With or without chimney…

Independence steam boilers can be installed in homes with or without chimneys. The standard Independence is used for chimney installations and uses a fuel saving vent damper which automatically closes when the boiler is idle. The Independence PV (power vent), can be used in homes without a chimney, and is used with a draft inducing fan which pulls hot gases through the heat exchanger at the optimum speed for efficiency.
